Food and Beverage
JJ Gannons is an award winning little gem, set in a beautiful old traditional building dating back to 1838. A haven of urban serenity, which contrasts dramatically with the hustle and bustle of Main Street, Ballinrobe.
The Pub is divided into two main rooms, The Red Room to the rear of the building with stunning views of the Tourmakeay and Connemara Mountains is warm and inviting and exudes tones of reds and pinks, which contrast beautifully with the modern off white leather high backed chairs. The Wine Bar on the other hand manages to retain the cosy traditional charm of the Irish Country Pub and at the same time embraces the bright crisp ambiance of the wine/cafe bar. Enjoy a wonderfully creamy pint of Guinness, a glass of champagne or simply a great cup of coffee with a homemade biscuit surrounded by decor which is warm and inviting with a traditional large stone fireplace surrounded by deep leather couch seating. The bar has a cosy snug or 19th hole which can be reserved as a private hideaway with its own bar and seats 6 to 8 people.
The inter-linking funky chocolate and vanilla padded bunker lounge is fully equipped with a large screen television for sporting events. Groovy lighting and plush furnishings all help to create its inherently warm and relaxed ambiance.
The food experience is a wow. The kitchen team change the menu daily. Dishes vary not only according to season and fresh local product availability but also from traditional to international cuisine.
Herbs, vegetables and fruits come from the kitchen garden, and local producers provide free range and organic poultry and meat. Fresh fish is delivered daily. Fresh breads, jams and desserts are all made in the kitchen.
Wines are served by the glass as also are various sparkling wines and champagnes, this offers a wonderful opportunity to sample new wines, and have some fun!. Jay also stocks a significant choice of bottled and tapped beers which he is happy to recommend with various dishes.
